From MR - Switzerland

Dear Mario

I just can say that we all (both of the two families including the kids) had the best time last week at the Villa Rosi and the Emila Romagna.

The Villa was just perfect not only regarding rooms, kitchen and of course the covered fireplace (we used it daily despite the rather cold weather) but also regarding its beautiful location.  There was everything we needed (and much more) and we couldn't think of anything that can be added or improved.

The printed information you gave us was very useful and there is an impressive and detailed collection of flyers, maps and brochures in the kitchen, perfect.

We arrived at Borla without any problems and met your lovely cousin Giovanna who showed us the Villa. Furthermore, we followed quite a lot of your recommendations. We had a few Apperitivi at the local Trattoria and also dinner at our last evening (fantastic food). We also had dinner at the Trattoria in Vernasca (at the corner opposite the car park). We visited the castles in Vigoleno (lovely trattoria as well) and Castel ‘Arquato and made a trip to Parma by train (car to Fidenza). Another lovely thing we did was to visit the Azienda Agricola Il Colle (Via Maestą 28/A localitą San Nicomede) were we all and especially the kids could see how the Parmigiano is made from the beginning. We were very impressed that the couple made cheese every single day without having one day off. And we bought a huge chunk of cheese as well. I don't have to tell you all these things as you know the place very well of course. I just would like to emphasize what a lovely and fantastic week this was for all of us.

Anyway, the Villa Rosi was just perfect. thank you very much for everything. If we get the opportunity we'd love to come back to Borla.

HR Australia

I and my extended family rented the property for four weeks in September–October 2004 and we had the time of our lives. The house is very comfortable and we particularly enjoyed the outdoor dining area; in fact at this time of year we ate al fresco almost every night when we weren’t eating out. Most of us travelled further afield during the month (although there’s not really any need) and I especially appreciated the proximity of Florence, Parma, Bologna, Ferrara, Padua, Venice. We took regular two- and three-day forays, alternating with a rest day or two at home on the sunny porch, including an overnight trip to the glorious Cinque Terre. (We’d spent two week in Rome – and the region around Grosseto – then to Perugia, Gubbio, Siena and Spello before arriving in Emilio Romagna but depending on your enthusiasm for voyaging, sites and autostrada, nothing seems too far away – for Australians that is!)

I am sorry it has taken me so long to tell you of our excellent stay at your villa in Borla. Your cousin greeted us and made us feel like family from day one, she was wonderful. The accommodations far exceeded anything we could have hoped for.
I have told all my friends about this great little jewel in Italy and hope they decide to book with you if they travel to that great country. Again thanks for having this lovely place and we hope to come back one day in the near future.

VILLA ROSI - MERAVIGLIOSO!!!

We (two couples) holidayed for 2 weeks at Villa Rosi in September and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Set as it is, with glorious views of the surrounding landscape and very pretty villages, it was hard to tear ourselves away to explore the regional history and geography.

We did however visit Cremona, Parma, Modena (including the Galleria Ferrari at Maranello) and even Genoa and Cinque Terre on the Ligurian coast as well as visiting the local towns and villages for market days.

For hunting and gathering we found the Co-op supermarket at Fidenza to have everything we could possibly want - and more. We ate out in the local area at Vernasca and La Trinita and were bowled over by the meals and service offered.

The Villa itself is charming. It is very clean, has all the modern conveniences and the outdoor dining area was constantly used, including BBQ's and lovely log fires most evenings - a great atmosphere! The Wi-fi internet connection worked a treat and kept us in touch with "the outside world". There was also plenty of extra room for additional visitors who occasionally dropped in to check out our very special place.

The walk up the road above Rosi Village is just spectacular. The view opens up on a grand scale and once over the crest, the view to the next valley is equally impressive. There are also many forestry trails to explore while you soak up the views.

Would we come again? We are already planning our next visit!
