Overview

The Villa

This is a beautiful country villa, set in the peaceful rolling foothills of the Apennines. It is ideal as a base to tour Italy and/or Europe. Use Villa Rosi as a central meeting point for families or friends from other regions of Italy, or from other counties. The villa is the perfect size for families or groups of four to six people; not too big for a couple, yet able to accommodate a temporary influx of visitors with a total of six double bedrooms.

Villa Rosi, built with local natural stone, has been fully restored. It offers a total of six double bedrooms (four bedrooms in the standard package, with the option of using one or two additional bedrooms), two bathrooms, and a fully-fitted, modern kitchen with granite work-tops. The villa has terra cotta tiles throughout; it is cool in the summer, and warm in the winter. It has full gas-fired central heating, double glazed windows, and roll-down mosquito shades. Water comes from natural mountain springs, with a filtration system in the kitchen.

Location

Villa Rosi is situated at the top of a small village, set in the hillsides of the Apennines. It offers wonderful views across the valley, and full peace and tranquility.

This region is still an un-spoilt area of Italy, and can be equated to Tuscany as it was 30 years ago. The many local attractions and trattorias offer unrivalled beauty and quality and value for money. Discover the region now whilst still relatively unknown!

The villa is a 30-minute drive from the main A1 Autostrada, linking Milan to Rome. Plus it's within easy access to other motorways to the coast, the mountains, and the lakes. Most parts of Northern Italy can be reached in two/three hours. Alternatively take the train (Fidenza), and get straight to the city centres without traffic and parking hassles. The high speed train gets to Milan or Bologna in one hour; Florence in two hours, and Rome in four hours.

Local Attractions

Locally you can shop in stylish Parma, and take in the ancient cathedral and the pink marble baptistery; closer to home you shop in the factory outlet centre in Fidenza, or enjoy the spa towns of Salsomaggiore and Tabiano.

The cities of Parma and Piacenza offer regular good music concerts and opera. Real opera lovers should try the open air Arena at Verona, La Scala in Milan, or Giuseppe Verdi's birthplace of Busseto.

Medieval castles can be found in Castel d'Arquato, Bardi, Fontanellato, Rossi or our own local castle at Vigoleno.
